1Malaysia International Tourism Night Floral Parade 2012
Organized by the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia and Tourism Malaysia the 1Malaysia International Tourism Night Floral Parade 2012 ‘Magic of the Night’ is held in conjunction with the Floria Putrajaya 2012, an annual floral exhibition organized by Perbadanan Putrajaya since 2007. This year’s Floria Putrajaya is themed “Bougainvillea-Enduring Beauty”.
A total of thirteen local and international boats paraded across the Putrajaya Lake nightly from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Held in conjunction with Floria Putrajaya, the events official launched at 8:30 pm on 30 June by Seri Paduka Baginda Yang DiPertuan Agong, Almu’tasimu Billahi Muhibuddin Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah and Her Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Hajah Haminah. Entrance to the event was free.
Ministry of Tourism and Tourism Malaysia together with 13 other boats from a state governments (Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Sabah, Sarawak and Terengganu), Putrajaya Corporation, Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) and unfamiliar participants (Kenya and Suzhou, China) are opposed for awards in 4 categories – Overall Best Boat, Most Creative Boat, Best Lighted Boat and Most Popular Boat.
Themed “Magic of a Night”, all boats, aflame and flashy to paint renouned tourism icons, will cruise along a Putrajaya Lake for 9 uninterrupted nights from 8.30 pm until 9.30 pm before they dump anchor for a immobile arrangement from 9.30 pm until 11.30 pm.

Colours of 1Malaysia
The Colours of 1Malaysia is back on 19 May to dazzle locals and tourist with its colourful sights and sounds. This annual event never fails to amaze, with spectacular performances and shows that depict the unique culture and heritage of Malaysia. Launched in 1999, it has become one of the biggest celebrations in Malaysia, drawing people from near and far to the iconic Dataran Merdeka.
The highlight of the evening will be the parade, which showcases the different races and ethnicities clad in their traditional outfits performing the cultural dances of their ancestors.
The rehearsal, which started at 8pm and ended after midnight, saw about 3,000 students from schools in the Klang Valley performing, clad in colourful traditional outfits and costumes that portray the diversity in culture and ethnic backgrounds of Malaysia.
The parade, with the theme “The Greatest Tourism Parade”, will feature a decorated float procession, a choreographed dance routine that howcases the various tourism events and tourism products in Malaysia, as well as marching band performances. The parade consists of 11 segments, namely:
