Line Clear Nasi Kandar@ Penang Road, Penang.

Penang not only known as "Pearl of the Orient" but also famous for its historical heritage, multiracial population, Penang Bridge and also the Best Food! One can find a great variety of food in Penang. It is often said that Penangites don't eat to live but live to eat!

Penang had produce one of  the best well known food in the Malaysia community which is nasi kandar.

The nasi kandar is a meal of steamed rice which can be plain or mildly flavored, and served with a variety of curries and side dishes.  It came about from a time when nasi [rice] hawkers or vendors would kandar [balance] a pole on the shoulder with two huge containers of rice meals. This portable style of selling nasi kandar has disappeared entirely but the name has remained and today all nasi kandar stalls are more likely to be stationary somewhere, either in nasi kandar restaurants or in stalls by the roadside.

The tradisional resipe of nasi kandar:

The rice for a nasi kandar dish is often placed in a wooden container about three feet high, giving it a distinctive aroma. The rice is accompanied by side dishes such as fried chicken, curried spleen, cubed beef, fish roe, fried prawns or fried squid. The vegetable dish would usually be brinjal (aubergine), okra (lady fingers or "bendi") or bitter gourd. A mixture of curry sauces is poured on the rice. This is called 'banjir' (flooding) and imparts a diverse taste to the rice.

We can see countless of nasi kandar stall and restaurant as we walk along George Town, Penang. One of the most famous nasi kandar stall is the Line Clear Nasi Kandar Stall at Penang Road. When we ask about Line Clear Nasi Kandar to Penangite, they will give highly recommendation and thumbs up to that stall.

Frankly speaking, I'm not a big fan of Nasi Kandar, but Line Clear Nasi Kandar had  tempt me to order a big plate of nasi kandar with fried curry chicken thigh and some vege.  Mmm... it was tasty and full, you wouldn't regret to have a taste here despite you dun like nasi kandar same as me. The price also not expensive though, it cost only RM 13 for my plate and you wouldn't regret to pay for it.
