Teo Chew Cendol @ Penang Road, Penang.

Penang has become so renowned for it's hawker food like nasi kandar, penang hokkien mee, laksa, char koay teow, char hor fun, mee rebus and chendol.

During my Penang trip in November 2010, I only had a chance to enjoy the delicacy of Penang food of nasi kandar (which I shared with you all in my last post on 02 December : Line Clear Nasi Kandar@ Penang Road, Penang.) and Chendol.

The first Chendol in Penang I had tasted was Teo Chew Cendol in Penang Street where we was curious by the numbers of people queuing for something to eat at the cendol stall when we pass through Penang Street.

We decide to stop by to see and taste the "what make so special cendol??". I don't know this cendol stall is one of THE most famous cendol stall in Penang until I Google it.

After waiting less than 5  minutes, the tauke (stall owner) already hand me a bowl of cendol and told me: "Don't worry! I won't forget your order."

Ah..So fast!! I thought need to wait for 15 minutes and almost give up!  You know what? Most of the customer order for more than 5 or 10 or 15 bowls of cencol  in one shot. I  order for 1 bowl only and he take my order seriously.. Good service and memory.. thumbs up.!

I'm sure you all won't believe the speed of preparation by the owner and his assistants..  Filled a bowl with shaved ice + some red beans + green grass jelly together with coconut milk on top. Done!!  Around less than 10 seconds for a bowl of cendol to be served.

Oh...no.. I only realised to take a picture of the cendol after had eaten some of it. Sorry, because I'm so tempted to test it first.    Mmm.. But I tell you all! It was really sweet and delicious.! A bowl of cendol sells at RM1.60.

The stall operates at daily from noon till 7pm. A lot of people waiting and standing just to enjoy the delicacy of Teo Chew Cendol .

How to get there: It is located on Lebuh Keng Kwee, off Penang Road. It is a walking distance from Komtar and Prangin Mall, a small lane on the left off Penang Road, just before you turn into Komtar (Jalan Dr Lim Chwee Leong). The stall is outside a kopitiam (coffeshop) which happens to have another famous laksa stall.
